Crestwood Middle School opened in 2004.The building was designed to accommodate a future addition, and the core facilities were sized to handle the student population with the future addition. Although the school is currently operating under state rated capacity, growth is expected in the area over the next ten years which will necessitate the need for additional school seats. A planned addition to Crestwood Middle will increase the capacity of the existing school by 298 students, adding about 21,000 SF to the existing building. The Crestwood Middle School project would utilize the same design as the Oakdale Middle Addition project. It is anticipated that FCPS will achieve some efficiencies of scale by completing these two projects back to back. The Crestwood Middle School project is being accelerated, with construction expected to begin in the summer of 2023 and completion in the summer of 2024. As of June 28, 2022 no new CIP issued, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for Fiscal Year 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
