Removal of existing roof and installation of new roof insulation and modified bitumen membrane roofing system. Contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and permits for removal of existing roof and installation of approximately 6,500 sf of new roofing for the South Slidell Library Branch located at 3901 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell, LA. The time period for completion of work is sixty days (60) days from issuance of Notice to Proceed by the Parish. B. The Contractor shall complete the following Work in a safe manner. The following outline of Work is noted by System. The Work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Removal of existing roofing system down to the sloped steel deck. (Dispose of all roofing materials in a legal manner in an acceptable location by law.) 2. Install new perimeter minimum 2x6 wood nailers on top of the parapet walls and add wood blocking to any curbs not meeting 8" minimum height requirement. New wood blocking to meet the requirements of Factory Mutual FM 1-49 requirements. 3. Install a substrate board over inside parapet where new membrane will waterproof the walls. 4. Install hat Channels 2'-0" on center and R-Panels at high parapet wall section at front of building. 5. Install new insulation coverboard and 2 ply sbs modified bitumen roof system. 6. Install new coping, gutters and downspouts. NEW ROOFING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION a. Preparation of existing sloped steel roof deck, and all flashing substrates. b. Installation of new minimum 2x6 nailers on top of the parapet wall. c. 2 Layers of 1.5" Polyisocyanurate Insulation d. 1 cover board 1/4 " thick e. SBS-modified bitumen base ply (mechanically fastened). f. SBS-modified bitumen cap sheet (heat-welded). g. SBS-modified bitumen membrane 2 ply flashings. h. Liquid-applied, reinforced flashings. i. New premanufactured Coping metal, gutter, and downspouts.
