General scope of work includes approximately 26,216 cubic yards of unclassified hydraulic dredging from within the project dredge template and disposal into USACE disposal area DA303 at the end of Lee Street and all related appurtenances. All Contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license under North Carolina State laws governing their respective trades. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a cash deposit or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation of an amount equal to not less than five (5%) percent of the proposal. In lieu thereof, a Bidder may file a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds, said deposit checks or bond to be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages, in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within the ten (10) days after the award or to give satisfactory surety as required by law, Public Laws 133, Section 1, Chapter 400, General Statutes of North Carolina 1943, C 143, Article 8, 129, amended by Public Law ratified April 14, 1951. Performance and Payment Bonds are required for one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. Payment will be made on the basis of ninety-five percent (95%) of monthly estimates up to 50% of Work completed and one hundred percent (100%) of monthly estimates for remaining Work. Final payment will be made upon completion and acceptance of the work. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
