As of February 27, 2024, an engineer has been selected. This project is in the design phase and is on hold pending owner review. It is anticipated bidding will commence in 2025 with construction following. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Lake Wales is issuing a Request for Qualifications from qualified firms to provide expertise related to the public improvements of the "Lake Wales Connected" downtown revitalization plan, including design / constructions drawings for the 1st Street Streetscape Design Project. Services provided should include, at a minimum, civil engineering and landscape architecture. The City of Lake Wales accepts no responsibility for any expense related to preparation or delivery of submittals. The City of Lake Wales reserves the right to: reject any and all submittals, select the firm(s) most qualified for each individual referenced project or for all referenced projects, waive technical errors and informalities, and to accept the proposal(s), which, in its sole judgment, best serves the public interest. The City of Lake Wales is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
