Site work and paving for a transportation facility in Niagara Falls, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.

*As of January 21, 2021, a general contractor has been awarded. The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, NFTA, will receive bids on a general Niagara Falls International Airport "Rehabilitate and Reconstruct Taxiway D" pavement construction project. Asphalt cold milling and paving including transitions to intersecting pavements totaling approximately 41,000 square yards. The existing offset centerline crown is shifted creating a standard crown. Pavement is expanded at intersection, meeting FAA standards creating approximately 1500 square yards. Taxiway Edge lights are adjusted, segments of the drainage system are reconstructed, and concrete intersecting pavements are repaired. CAD files including the digital terrain model will be available to implement the construction and facilitate the grade control. Work includes asphalt pavement milling and paving, drainage, airfield lighting, concrete pavement repairs, pavement removals, pavement markings and turf grading. The FAA funded three-phase project approach is implemented using a single notice to proceed, with a fixed 98 day construction period, preceded by a submittal period, and concluded by a project closeout period as set forth in the Contract Documents. Work shall proceed in strict accordance with the approved project FAA Construction Safety and Phasing Plan (CSPP). Project work will require short-term interruption of runway 6-24, and runway 10L-28R. Stringent time restrictions apply within the 98-day Phase 2 work window. The CSPP defines these and where they apply within the three Taxiway D Phase 2 geographical work areas. Bid security must accompany each bid, if the bid price exceeds $50,000, and must be in the amount not less than 10% of the bid price. Bid security may be supplied either electronically or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Subcontracting is allowed.
