Renovation of a water / sewer project in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The Engineer's estimate range for this project is $13,000,000 - $16,000,000. The work consists of modifying the existing plant power distribution system to provide redundant power sources to all critical switchboards, including replacement of existing medium-voltage cables, transformers, low-voltage switchboards, and associated equipment that are obsolete and prone to failure, and all appurtenant work Each bid must be on a Proposal Form obtained and downloaded from the links provided above and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bond with an approved surety company as surety, payable to Los Angeles County Sanitation District No. 2 or other authorized security provided by Public Contract Code 20784, for an amount equal to at least ten percent of the amount bid as a guaranty that the bidder, if successful, will enter into a contract satisfactory to the Board of Directors for completing the work contemplated. The successful bidder must file good and sufficient bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of laborers and materialmen. Bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of laborers and materialmen that are issued by sureties that are listed in the latest version of the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570 and that are authorized to issue bonds in the State of California, and whose bonding limitation shown in the circular is sufficient to provide bonds in the amount of the contract, will be deemed approved unless specifically rejected. Bonds issued by all other sureties are subject to approval by the Board of Directors and must be accompanied by all of the documents enumerated in California Code of Civil Procedure 995.660(a), as amended. At the time of bid, the Contractor shall possess a valid California Contractor's License in the following classifications: GENERAL ENGINEERING "A" AND ELECTRICAL "C-10" The Board of Directors may award the contract for the above-described work, either at the meeting of the Board of Directors to be held at the above-stated address, on December 23, 2020 beginning at 1:30 p.m., or at any other meeting of the Board of Directors within 60 days after the date listed above for receipt of bids. The Board of Directors may reject all bids. Unless all bids are rejected, award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder. The work of construction must be completed within 400 WORKING DAYS after the date in the Notice to Proceed. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246. Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Labor Code of the State of California, not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the work contemplated under the agreement, as ascertained by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, must be paid to all workers employed on the work by the Contractor or by any subcontractor doing or contracting to do any part of the work
