**As of November 16, 2020, no bids were received for the project. ** The site location of the cages to be renovated is at the Duplex Ballfields located at 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33486. Please note the batting cages located at the quad ballfields are not to be renovated duplex fields cages only. All site work shall begin no earlier than December 14, 2020 and shall be completed no later than January 29, 2021. The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District is looking for a qualified contractor to renovate its batting cages located at Sugar Sand Park. There are 2 batting cages located side by side at the Duplex Fields. Below are the details of work to be performed: a. Sugar Sand Park Duplex Cages: - Remove existing tunnels from concrete pad including posts, netting and warm-up area fencing - Patch over former posts and fence holes and grind flush with remainder of concrete pad surface - Measure existing concrete pad to ensure new batting cages (see new cage requirements below) will properly fit on concrete pad. If needed, pour additional slab to meet needs of new cages. Please note that relocation of sprinklers could be needed if widening is required and should be included in all pricing - Remove existing turf covering and purchase and replace with padded, Bermuda artificial turf - Purchase and install new batting cages (per requirements below) - Concrete slab for existing warm-up area should be removed unless partially needed for installation of new cages. If partially needed, area not needed should be removed. - Tunnel to be configured/installed so that the hitters would be at the west end, by the light pole so that the ball can have proper lighting. b. Batting Cage Requirements (per each location above): - Double Cage Configuration (measurement should be a minimum 70 long x 14 tall x 28 wide to account for 2 cages measuring 70 long x 14 tall x 14 wide each) - 40-gauge galvanized steel polls (6 total poles) should be used with approximately a 3 net offset - No side poles should be utilized - Pre-assembled overhead cables and ground cables for quick and easy setup - Premium UV-treated nylon cage net with sewn reinforcement and end panel over-flap entrances to fit double cage configuration - Each cage should include a mesh 8 x 8 batting cage net protector - Examples of acceptable batting cages are the Beacon Ball Fields Tuff1 Outdoor Batting Cage or Mastodon Engineered Batting Cage System
