Site work for a water / sewer project in Newton Highlands, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a dam / floodwall.
As of May 1, 2023, a contractor has been selected and construction has commenced. This project is included City of Newton Capital Improvement Plan fiscal year 2024-2028. A firm timeline for construction completion has not been established; however, is estimated to be completed by October 2023. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. Work consists of renovations and improvements to Louise Levingston Cove, a 0.5 acre park property located along the shoreline of Crystal Lake, on Lake Avenue between Berwick Road and Lakewood Road (between 170 Lake Avenue and 230 Lake Avenue), Newton, Massachusetts 02459. Work shall be performed in accordance with the Construction Documents and Project Manual. The improvements contained within these Contract Documents include accessibility improvements, stormwater runoff management, protection and enhancement of wildlife habitat, overall recreational upgrades, and public safety improvements. The contractor will be responsible for coordinating construction permits, site preparation, installation of erosion control measures, tree protection, earthwork and regrading, dewatering, concrete work, installation of a pile cap and steel cantilever framing, deck construction, landscaping, tree planting and other miscellaneous work required and as specified in the Project Manual. The contractor is responsible for adherence to all state permits.
