Remediation work at former Central Steam Plant.The goal of the proposed remediation work is to physically clean and remove and/orotherwise mitigate/control petroleum in the subsurface to prevent oil sheening on the North Nashua River. The proposed plan is to physically remove residual petroleum that likely resides along the land side of a section of the retaining wall and then to installorganic adsorbent media and a permeable reactive barrier system to mitigate any residual oils that may migrate towards the wall but not prohibit the natural flow of groundwater.
