Renovation of a mixed-use development in Harlan, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 78,990-square-foot educational facility.

The last day for questions will be November 25, 2020.The project consists of the renovation of the existing Harlan Independent Elementary, Middle and High Schools and a 1,400 square foot Cafeteria addition. The renovation includes a new HVAC system, lights and new ceiling work at the Middle School. It also includes new flooring, paint, ceilings, a new HVAC system and lighting at the High School. At the Elementary School, the project includes new windows and floors throughout along with exterior masonry repair, cleaning and tuck pointing. The Cafeteria Addition includes a concrete retaining wall, masonry, new storefront as well as new concrete plaza and canopies. A PEMB Canopy Walkway cover joining the High School and Elementary School along with other entry canopies are also a part of the project. A certified check, payable to Harlan Independent Board of Education, or a satisfactory bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to 5% of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid. Successful bidders will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds. The bond shall cover the entire base bid cost and any accepted alternates (direct purchase orders must be included). The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities and/or technicalities to allow for the best interest of the Owner to be served. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids will not be opened. Any bid not submitted on the proper form shall not be considered.
