As of January 21, 2026, this project is underway. An architect and construction manager have been secured. Completion is expected in fall of 2026. Original solicitation below for reference: Anticipated professional services with emphasis on the Durham Station Bus Island improvements will include: Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Carbon Neutral Goals, LEED/Sustainability Accreditation Administration, Language Access, Signage, Wayfinding and Equitable Community Engagement Services. Prior experience with FTA projects and grant administration is desired. The $10.8 million in federal funding has been allocated to cover 80% of this $13.5 million project with a local match of $2.7 million for construction as well as funding to complete design.
