As July 9, 2024, this project has been awarded. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2024 with completion in August 2027. Lump sum sealed bids shall be received until 4:00 p.m., local time, for the base bid and alternate bids, January 18, 2024, by the Construction Manager, Keller Construction Management, a Division of Keller Brothers, Inc., 1012 Rising Ridge Road, Mount Airy, Maryland 21771, for the Crown High School (New) project, 9410 Fields Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878. This project is a Construction Management At-Risk project. The deadline for pre-bid questions, RFIs, is January 9, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Answers will be issued to all bidders via Addendum. Send all questions electronically to crownhs@kellerbrothers.com. Bids shall be submitted utilizing prevailing wages. The wage determination is included in the bidding documents. All bidders are required to submit bids based upon prevailing wages. Failure to provide a complete bid, with all pricing, may result in a non-responsive bid. Minority business enterprises are encouraged to respond to this Notice to Contractors. The Contractor or supplier who provides materials, supplies, equipment, and/or services for this construction project shall attempt to achieve the overall MBE goal for public school construction established for this project. All prime trade contractors, including certified MBE firms, when submitting bids or proposals as general or prime trade contractors, are required to attempt to achieve the set goal from certified MBE firms. Specific goals established per bid package will be designated by the Construction Manager. Bidder shall submit the required forms contained in Section 008010, "Minority Business Enterprise Procedures," with the bid, and failure to submit these forms will result in the bid being determined as nonresponsive. The apparent low bidders shall be requested to submit other minority business enterprise material and supporting data within ten (10) working days after notification that the firm is the apparent low bidder. Instructions pertaining to the bid bond, performance, and materials payment bond requirements are set forth in Section 002000, "Instructions to Bidders," and compliance with same shall be the responsibility of the Contractor submitting the bid. The conditions contained in this Notice to Contractors, by their issuance, become a part of the Contract requirements. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept any of the bids for Alternate work submitted, and may accept Alternates in any order or combination, unless specifically provided in the Contract Documents.
