For purposes of this document, the word Park(s) shall include the Township Park, all Preserves (Franklin, Bannffshire, Goodwin and White Clay Crescent) the Township Office property on Municipal Lane and all identified trails Township is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for personnel and vehicles/equipment to perform Road Repair and Maintenance, and Park Maintenance Services in the Township. Road Repair and Maintenance will include general road maintenance and repair services, including but not limited to road and pothole patching, shoulder repairs, downed tree removal, stormwater drainage maintenance, sign installation and repair, and any other projects as may be deemed appropriate by the Board of Supervisors and the Township staff. Park Maintenance will include but is not limited to repair and maintenance of park buildings and structures, athletic courts and fields, the playground, clearing and maintaining natural and asphalt pedestrian trails. The trail clearing and maintenance may require mowing, cutting, and grubbing, trimming back tree limbs, vines, wild rose bushes, etc. The successful Contractor is required to have experience and knowledge consistent with these activities and shall provide all tools and equipment necessary to perform these tasks. This Contract may be extended and the hourly rate for personnel and equipment may be increased on an annual basis for one additional year by mutual agreement of the parties in writing. Contract extensions and hourly rate increases are not guaranteed. The above services DO NOT include major road paving or reconstruction, road bank mowing, road de-icing and/or snowplowing services, mowing of Crossan Park & the Township Office. The Township reserves the right to waive any non-material defects or irregularities in the bid, to reject any or all bids or portions thereof, or to award the contract which is deemed to be in the best interest of the Township. Bids received after the submission deadline will not be opened and will be considered void and unacceptable.
