Bridges are cleaned to diminish the future need for maintenance by removing salt and debris to prevent corrosion, improve drainage, and ensure the bridge bearings are free of contaminants. Every bid must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check or bank cashier's check payable to the NYS Department of Transportation, in the sum of the amount shown on the proposal title page.
