Site work for a water / sewer project in Valley Center, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project generally consists of the cleaning, structural repair, interior coating and exterior painting of Couser, a 91-foot diameter by 32-foot tall (base to roof) 1.5 million gallon above ground welded steel potable water reservoir and Circle R, a 23-foot diameter by 33-foot tall (base to roof) 0.1 million gallon above ground welded steel potable water reservoir and above ground piping including, but not limited to the following work components for each reservoir. The contractor shall remove and dispose of the interior ladder and associated brackets, tabs, and all other components prior to coating. Contractor shall remove existing center vents and screens on each reservoir prior to interior work and replace vent when complete. Screens to be replaced by Contractor after completion of all painting and coating. Contractor shall replace all existing earthquake straps/rods and associated nuts/bolts prior to interior coating on each reservoir. Contractor shall remove existing weld splatter prior to coating or painting on each reservoir. Existing conduits, radios, antennas, and other miscellaneous electrical and radio components on each reservoir will remain protected in place during Contractor's work. All electrical and radio components to be painted or protected as directed by District. Rafter replacement will be determined by District Staff after inspection blasts is performed. However, the bid should account for removal of all rafters. If it is determined that not all rafters require replacement, the District shall receive a credit. All work shall be completed within Ninety (90) calendar days of the date of the Notice to Proceed. bids must be submitted on the District's Bid Forms or copies thereof. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a Bid Bond in favor of the District in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. Each bid shall be accompanied by the security referred to in the Contract Documents, the NonCollusion Declaration, the list of proposed subcontractors, and all additional documentation required by the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the District with a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the successful bid, and a Payment Bond equal to 100% of the successful bid, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is admitted by the State of California. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, the successful bidder may substitute certain securities for funds withheld by District to ensure his performance under the Contract This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. In bidding on this project, it shall be the Bidder's sole responsibility to evaluate and include the cost of complying with all labor compliance requirements under this contract and applicable law in its bid. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the following appropriate classification(s) of contractor's license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license(s) throughout the duration of the Contract: A-1 General Engineering C-33, Painting and Decorating. Applicator shall be SSPCQP1 certified. All structural repair items that require welder certifications such as removal and replacement of roof rafters, center vent, earthquake rods, roof railing installation, etc. shall not be considered "incidental and supplemental" to the painting and coating work and therefore shall be completed by a properly licensed contractor or subcontractor containing A-1 General Engineering and or C60, Welding License. Award of Contract: The District shall award the Contract for the Project to the lowest responsible bidder as determined from the base bid alone by the District. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process.
