Site work, paving, new construction and renovation of an educational facility in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for the construction of a educational facility.
As of August 2024, a new architect has been attached to this project. This project is unlikely to begin prior to the second quarter of 2025. Project Number 003032 The project is comprised of the following Prime Bid Contracts: Prime Contract 1 - General Construction (Areas D, E, G, H, J) Prime Contract 2 - Casework (Areas D, E, G, H) Prime Contract 3 - Swimming Pool & Associated Equipment (Area H) Prime Contract 4 - Fire Protection (Areas D, E, G, H) Prime Contract 5 - Plumbing Construction (Areas G & H) Prime Contract 6 - Electrical Construction (Areas G, H, Site Lighting, Site Service (see Matrix) The project consists in building a new Main Gymnasium and Natatorium addition in the north side of the building (areas G &H), central plant upgrades and renovations at locations in areas D & E. A second bid event will occur in the fall to complete renovations in the rest of the building. General Construction includes but is not limited to: All sitework including modifications to the existing parking lots and a new parking lot, temporary fencing and site controls, site utilities and landscaping. Temporary partitions, doors, and ramp, select building demolition, concrete masonry and steel work, waterproofing and air barriers and metal wall panels. Roofing and windows for the new additions are included in this contract. The roofing and exterior windows for the existing building will be part of a separate GESA contract. All doors, frames and hardware, Aluminum entrances, sunshades, curtain wall, borrowed lites and glazing, partitions, ceilings, wall and floor finishes, painting, all division 10 items, food service equipment in the concession area, tech ed and art equipment, athletic equipment, stage rigging and curtains, window treatments and elevators are included. Casework will include but not limited to all plastic laminate casework, millwork, science casework and equipment, tech ed casework, countertops, and braces. Swimming Pool Construction will include work as shown in the documents. Strong coordination with the GC, plumbing, mechanical and electrical contractor is required. Fire Protection renovations include a new back flow preventor and main serving the new additions. New fire protection shall be provided for the new additions G&H as well as piping and coverage to areas D&E of the renovated areas. Mains shall be capped for future connection for phase 2 of the project. Plumbing for the Additions areas G&H include providing bathroom fixtures (water closets, urinals, and lavatories) with low-flow fixtures; ADA upgrades, providing mixing valves, floor and roof drains, water hammer arrestors, domestic water heaters, domestic water pumps, sump pumps and duplex ejector pumps. Electrical Installation of new 2000A 277/480V Main Distribution Switchboard Sports Plex (MDSP). The existing site utility transformer will be removed and relocated. The feed to the existing Field House will be intercepted and extended to the new utility site transformer. New distribution panel feeders will be installed from MDSP. 480V-208/120V transformers will be installed between 480/277V distribution and panelboards to 208/120V panelboards. Power connection for HVAC and plumbing equipment. Including chiller, rooftop equipment, fan coil units, cabinet heaters, pumps, etc. connects will be provided with new conduit and cabling. Provide grounding system with proper building ground and service grounding. Tamper proof duplex and tamper proof ground fault circuit interrupter devices. Install devices for special equipment. Provide LED light fixtures throughout Areas G and H within scheduled bid event 1. Daylight harvesting and occupancy sensors will be installed. All areas will get new lighting controls and switching. Site lighting will have selected new site light bases, poles, and fixtures. There will be selected concrete bases to remain with new poles and fixtures. Public electrical contractor will only provide back boxes and conduit for fire alarm. GESA subcontractor will be installing all fire alarm cabling, sleeves, J hooks, fire caulking, devices, and testing. Provide boxes, tile/masonry rings, conduit fittings, conduit, conduit supports, and plastic bushing on conduit for fire alarm in areas of accessible ceilings. Provide box, conduit fittings, conduit supports, conduit, and plastic bushing on conduit to nearest accessible ceiling with coordination with GESA fire alarm provider in areas of exposed ceilings. Provide a new PA intercom speakers and clock. Headend equipment will be provided and installed by the GESA subcontractor. There will be new corridor clocks with new classroom clocks. Gymnasium and Natatorium will receive sound system. AV system will be provided with owner supplied interactive displays. Provide Communications equipment racks and patch panels. Horizontal cabling with supports. Provide fiber backbone cabling. Installation of jacks and plate covers.
