Renovation of a multi-residential development in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
The Project consists of: Envelope upgrade including, wall insulation, weather proofing, siding, metal cornice and paneling, replacement of balcony railings, limited window repairs and replacement, limited hollow metal exterior door replacement, masonry cleaning and repairs, roofing replacement, duct sleeves and louvers in preparation for future HVAC project, and interior renovation to convert one apartment to accessible MAAB Group 2 compliant dwelling. Apartment conversion includes but not limited to; Reconfiguration and replacement of partitions, kitchen casework and appliances, bathroom and plumbing, and apartment entrance. Also included is exhaust fans and duct work or kitchen and bathroom. There is Asbestos containing materials in the existing building and Hazardous Material remediation will be required. Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.149 26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of General Building Construction. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates), and made payable to the Boston Housing Authority. Bid package is available to download via email request to bids@bostonhousing.org free of charge. Bid package hard copy is also available for pick-up at: Boston Housing Authority, 52 Chauncy Street, Boston, MA 021111 There is a plan deposit of $ 50.00 per set (maximum of 2 sets) payable to the Boston Housing Authority. Deposits must be a certified or cashier's check, or money order. This deposit will be refunded for up to two sets for general bidders and for one set for sub-bidders upon return of the sets in good condition within thirty (30) days of receipt of general bids. Otherwise the deposit shall be the property of the Awarding Authority. Additional sets may be purchased for $50.00 Bidders requesting bid package to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $ 100.00 per set, payable to the Boston Housing Authority, to cover mail handling costs. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to DHCD (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. No waivers will be granted after the general bids are opened. Site Visits will be limited to groups of 6 attendees per session due to COVID-19 restrictions - each member of your party must be scheduled. Site Visits will begin promptly at designated times. Enter building directly into Dining Room - 133, on west side of building from L Street sidewalk. Do not use Main Entrance. Onsite parking IS NOT available for Site Visits.
