The work comprises the furnishing of all materials, equipment, tools, labor and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above stated project. The general items of work to be performed hereunder at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Arbolita Drive in the City of La Habra and shall consist of but not be limited to Mobilization & Demobilization; Traffic Control, Construction Phasing, Public Convenience and Safety; Storm Water Best Management Practices (BMPs); Sidewalk Removal and Replacement, and Traffic Signal Modification which includes but are not limited to new traffic signal equipment such as traffic signal poles, vehicle heads, countdown pedestrian heads, pedestrian push buttons, traffic signal cabinet assembly, pull boxes, conduit, Type III electrical service, video detection system, rewiring of the intersection, signing and striping improvements and relocation of existing equipment such as wireless Ethernet radio and CCTV camera; and all incidental work so indicated on the plans, specifications and tables, and required for the proposed improvements. The City of La Habra has determined that a Class "A" or a Class "C-8" and a Class "C-10" Contractor's License is required for this project. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified cashier's check or by a corporate surety bond on the form furnished by the City of La Habra, as guarantee that the bidder will, if an award is made to him in accordance with the terms of his bid, promptly secure Worker's Compensation Insurance and Liability Insurance, execute the contract in the required form and furnish satisfactory bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of claims of materialmen and workers thereunder. Said check or bidder's bond shall be in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. The Faithful Performance Bond shall be not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid price named in the contract. The Payment Bond shall be not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the bid price named in the contract. The City of La Habra reserves the right to reject any bond if, in the opinion of the Engineer, the Surety's acknowledgment is not in the form included in the contract documents or in another form substantially as prescribed by law. No Contractor or Subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code 1725.5 and Senate Bill 854. Payroll documents for the contractor and subcontractors should be submitted and registered on time with the DIR. Under California Labor Code Section 1771.1, in order to be awarded and to perform work on public works projects, prime contractors and subcontractors must possess and maintain registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) The work to be constructed hereunder is located at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Arbolita Drive within the City of La Habra, County of Orange.
