As of November 27, 2023, the project is currently under design with plans to move to engineering early in 2024. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, construction is anticipated for late 2024. A detailed scope has not yet been released. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City/CRA has developed a Preliminary Vision Plan for the Under-i. The selected Consultant and its subconsultants will assist the City/CRA in updating, refining, and completing the Under-i Vision Plan, developing design and construction documents based on the final Vision Plan, and obtaining approval of all required permits. It is anticipated that the Consultant and its team will be under contract by the summer of 2021 with 100% design completed by the summer of 2022, and a fall 2022 construction start. It is expected that the Under-i will be open by the spring of 2024. The Under-i is envisioned to be an approximately 9.75-acre urban community park beneath the new I-4 bridge decks in downtown Orlando. This area is generally bounded by W. Washington Street on the north, by W. Church Street on the south, Hughey Avenue on the west and Garland Avenue on the east. (See Figure 1, Location Map) This area, sometimes referred to as The Bridge District, is the longest at-grade connection between the east and west sides of Orlando along the City entire I-4 corridor. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
