As of August 27, 2025, this project is in design, and the construction year has been deferred to 2032. As part of the Village-Wide Drainage Study, Christopher Burke Engineering designed a relief storm sewer for the northern portion of Lincolnshire Drive to improve drainage. The designs will provide enough drainage relief to accommodate for a 10-year storm event. Designs are to install a new 36" sewer along Oxford Drive from Lancaster Lane to Melrose lane, a 42" sewer from Melrose to Lincolnshire Drive, a 48" main through the Spring Lake Park Parking Lot, and a 66" sewer through the parking lot into the Des Plaines River. The plan is to install the new storm sewers directly adjacent to the existing 42" and 48" sewers along Oxford Drive. The plans also include a new 36" lateral storm line along Lancaster Lane to Yorkshire Drive and 24" storm main on Lincolnshire Drive south to existing infrastructure near 90 Lincolnshire Drive. The improvements will provide a 10-year level of flood protection. Phase II design engineering was approved by the Village Board in 2020 and is currently ongoing. Staff applied for a $2.5 million grant from the Lake County Storm Water Commission to be used towards the construction of this project but has not yet received a response on on potential grant award to date. Funds requested for 2024 are to continue with engineering of the planned project. As of February 22, 2024, this project is currently in the FY 2022-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2024-2025. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for FY2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
