Renovation of a municipal facility in Clyde River, Nunavut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The objective of this RFP is to provide all labour, material, equipment and engineering services required for replacing a diesel-powered generator at the Clyde River power plant. The existing generator set #3, including all auxiliary equipment, is scheduled for replacement in fall 2021. The genset replacement will require replacement of the main protection relay, upgrades to the control circuits and other electrical devices. Genset #3 cooling, fuel, heat recovery and compressed air start systems and associated piping also need to be replaced and upgraded to accommodate the new genset. A new heat recovery of engine jacket water will need to be incorporated into the plant heating system. In addition, various supports and structures also require modification and/or fabrication to accommodate the new genset, piping and its auxiliary equipment. The overview of work requirements includes the following, which are fully detailed in the attached Scope of Work: Planning, design, supply and field installation of QEC supplied new generator set and its new auxillaries Supply, transportation and delivery of installation materials (FOB Clyde River power plant) Demolition and removal of the existing generator set and all the associated mechanical auxiliaries, pipes, valves, electrical ancillaries and cables/wires, etc. Project management, commissioning and testing installed genset and the associated systems **TIMELINE: Prequalified/shortlisted contractors announced. Project may be updated if/when advertised for bid.
