Waste solvents and fuel mixtures are generated at NCDA&CS laboratories throughout the year. These wastes are collected by the contractor on a monthly, or every other month, depending on the specific laboratory involved. The contractor will collect the wastes from small laboratory containers and 55-gallon drums at the Constable Lab Complex and the Agronomics Division, and will pick up 55-gal. drums of wastes at the Motor Fuels Lab. The wastes are disposed by fuels blending. The scheduling for the pickups will be coordinated by the Contract Administrator who will work with the contractor to plan a date and time for the collection at each facility. Wastes from the Constable Lab Complex are collected monthly. Wastes from the Motor Fuels Lab and the Agronomics Lab are collected every other month. (Note: These wastes are collected on the same day as the Constable Lab Complex pickup). All of the labs at the Constable Complex and Motor Fuels Lab will reside in one new facility (The Agricultural Sciences Center) in 2021. The off-spec fuel will be stored in an above ground tank in a below ground vault at the new facility, which will require the fuel to be vacuum/pumped out. This facility is located on contiguous property with the Agronomics Division.
