New construction of a multi-residential development in Orillia, Ontario. Completed plans call multi-residential development; and for the construction of a 215,000-square-foot, four-story above grade, 130-unit multi-residential development.

The Simcoe County Housing Corporation (SCHC) is seeking the services of a Construction Manager at Risk to act as a trusted representative of and consultant to the Simcoe County Housing Corporation (SCHC), monitoring and coordinating the subcontractors, providing advice and input to the management team overseeing the construction of this redevelopment, as described within the RFP document. The Simcoe County Housing Corporation (SCHC) is planning a 6 acre redevelopment contained on an empty 9 acre site located at the corners of West and Borland Streets in Orillia at the former high school lands. The complete demolition of the high school, and site services has already been completed by the County. The site has been tested clean and graded with clean fill in preparation for the new development. The redevelopment plan proposes the construction of a facility that is designed as one building; however, divided into three distinct sections comprised of a six (6) and four (4) storey 'wings' that are visually separated by the tiered central hub. These design features provide transitional intensification in order to harmonize with the existing neighbourhood character. With respect to energy efficiency and sustainability a LEED-like silver approach will be used as well as some Passive House design features.
