Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility.

The project is a two phased project to replace Nottingham Elementary School with a new campus: Phase one will consist of moderate site demolition and construction of a new elementary school. Phase two will consist of demolition of the remaining existing campus and site work The new elementary school is being placed on the plan east side of the site. The future parking lot and sports field, as they are currently planned, overlap the existing building footprint which will be demolished after school construction. The main superstructure of the new elementary school is planned to be structural steel beams and columns with a composite second floor framed from wide flange steel beams. The roof is anticipated to be structural steel framing spanning between columns with bar joists spanning between beams. Our experience in this area indicates cast-in-place, drilled and underreamed piers with slab-on-grade are typically preferred to support the new building. The proposed paving is expected to be concrete pavement.
