Site work for a road / highway in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

Bid Intent Not Available This project improves a one-mile segment of the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail (PPGT) from I-25 near North Nevada Avenue and Rockrimmon Boulevard, north to the Cottonwood Creek Bridge at the confluence of Cottonwood and Monument Creeks (adjacent to Corporate Center Drive). The Pikes Peak Greenway Trail is a key segment of the region's most extensive multi-use trail network. This 14 mile City trail connects to El Paso County's New Sante Fe trail on the north end and Fountain Creek Regional Trail on the south end to form 38 miles of continuous "spine" trail with connections to hundreds of miles of City, County, state and national trail systems in all directions. The Pikes Peak Greenway Trail is a "Tier 1' recreational trail and a primary corridor for non-motorized transportation, and was designed to serve a large variety and volume of users. City Trail specifications, as outlined in the City's Parks Recreations and Trails master plan (200) call for a12' wide concrete trail bordered by a 4' wide soft shoulder to reduce user conflicts with runners and equestrians. These specifications were derived from AASHTO, ADA and other trail resources that specify design criteria for non-motorized transportation. Existing conditions in the project reach do not meet current trail specifications making this segment unsafe, uncomfortable and difficult to maintain. These conditions severely inhibit use of this segment. The trail surface consists of deteriorated asphalt with hazardous depressions and potholes that make the surface unstable, leading to flat tires and accidents. Trees and vegetation grow up through the weakened asphalt further deteriorating the surface and creating dangerous obstacles along the trail. Existing conditions make it difficult to plow the trail in the winter. Mud and debris accumulate in the potholes year-round. The trail is not ADA accessible. This project consists of full depth reconstruction of one-mile of the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail to improve the safety, sustainability and functionality of this segment and the connecting trail system. The following tasks comprise the scope of work for the proposed project: - Installing HDPE pipe where necessary to convey stormwater - Constructing a 12' wide concrete trail 5" thick with a 4' soft shoulder of crushed gravel installed along one side of the paved trail. - Pruning of vegetation that intrudes into the trail corridor; establish a 12' vertical clearance Question Acceptance Deadline 12/28/2020 03:00 PM EST Questions are submitted online No Pikes Peak Greenway Trail Improvements - I25 to Cottonwood Buyer's Requirements Participation Requirements - Minority Business Participation - Small Business Participation - Women-Owned Business Participation - Service-Disabled Veteran Owned - Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) General Requirements - Insurance Required - Federally Funded Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 %
