Bid Valid - 180 Days Estimated Bid Value - $127,000,000 Bid Bond - 10.00% Payment Bond - 100.00% Performance Bond - 100.00% The Construction Management Professional for Alvarado 2nd Extension Pipeline (AP 2nd) will be responsible for providing Construction Management Resident Engineer (CMRE) services, Survey Services and Welding Inspection services for the construction of the 24-inch and 48-inch steel pipe in existing city streets including pavement removal and restoration as well as traffic controls. The alignment includes a railroad undercrossing through an existing sewer line to serve as a casing, steel encased crossings (Open Cut) at Caltrans I-5 and I-805 crossings, and a casing installed by trenchless methods under Highway SR-163, associated valves, valve bypasses, access manholes, cathodic protection, AV/ARs and blowoffs and connections to existing pipelines. The project includes a new below grade pressure reducing station in a vault near at the intersection of Friars Road and Napa Street as well as12" and 16" PVC waterline replacements including new hydrants and connections to existing water services. Work includes replacement of existing curb ramps with new ADA compliant curb ramps along the pipeline alignment. All water main improvements will be designed and installed in accordance with the Project Specifications, the Greenbook, the Whitebook, the approved materials list and the 2021 City of San Diego Standard Drawings for Public Works Construction. Other Details The project will require two CMREs for a duration of 1,339 construction working days plus 40 working days start up and 80 working days for close-out for the lead CMRE and 786 construction working days plus 40 days for start up for the 2nd CM RE. The project will also require a Welding Inspector for steel welded pipe installation and Survey services to include construction staking and settlement monitoring in Caltrans ROW. Working hours will be exclusively during night time, however some daytime work or weekend work will be required to ensure completion of the work and changes to the working hours could be required through the contract duration in order to meet specific project needs. The work includes associated cathodic protection, street resurfacing, curb ramps, and all other incidental work.
