The Town of Milton is an exempt organization under the Tax Law and is exempt from payment of Sales and Compensating Use Taxes on materials which are to be incorporated into the project and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Owner prior to incorporation into the project, pursuant to the provisions of the Contract. These taxes are not to be included in the bid. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Work shall be substantially completed on or before July 2, 2021 and ready for final payment by August 6, 2021. The Work shall consist of furnishing, installing, inspecting, maintaining, and removing soil and erosion control measures as shown on the contract documents or as ordered by the Owners Representative during the life of the contract to provide erosion and sediment control. B. Temporary structural measures provide erosion control protection to a critical area for an interim period. A critical area is any disturbed, denuded slope subject to erosion. These are used during construction to prevent offsite sedimentation. Temporary structural measures shall include check dams, stabilized construction entrance, dust control, silt fence, storm drain inlet protection, or other erosion control devices or methods as required. C. Permanent structural measures also control protection to a critical area. They are used to convey runoff to a safe outlet. They remain in place and continue to function after completion of construction. Permanent structural measures shall land grading, retaining wall, or other erosion control devices or methods as required. D. Vegetative measures shall include mulching, protecting vegetation, seeding, topsoil, and erosion control matting
