This item provides for the systematic replacement of trunk water main throughout the system. Trunk pipelines deliver bulk water to various parts of the system. Failure of trunk lines can have widespread impacts across the system. 2021 - Ridgedale Drive (Laurel Road to east of Essex Road): This project is scheduled to be completed in 2021 and in advance of programed trail improvements in the area. Design would be completed in 2020 and bid to prepare for spring construction. Replacement is anticipated to be primarily using trenchless technology, as there are no surface improvements programed for the roadway in the 5-year planning horizon. 2025 - Excelsior Boulevard (Westmill Road to Wing Lake Drive): This project will rehabilitate 6000 feet of 18-inch ductile iron pipe that was installed in 1968. This segment of trunk water main has a history of breaks and is some of the oldest material in the city's system. As of September 23, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2026. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
