Site work and paving for a road / highway in Columbus, Ohio. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Cassady Avenue improvements consist of the full reconstruction of the roadway to a 3-lane, curb and gutter section with additional turn lanes at the intersection with E. 5th Avenue. Sidewalk will be placed along the east side and a shared use path along the west side. Additional improvements include traffic signal replacement, street lighting, street trees where feasible, and storm sewer. Electric distribution and water line systems are anticipated to be impacted. The 12" water line between Avalon Place and E. 5th Avenue will be replaced with a new 12" line. E. 5th Avenue improvements consist of roadway reconstruction with additional turn lanes at the intersection with Cassady Avenue. The sidewalk will be replaced along both sides and lighting and utility systems replaced/relocated as necessary. Additional improvements include street lighting, street trees where feasible, and storm sewer. ESTIMATED SCHEDULE: PHASE START FINISH Study Spring 2018 Spring 2020 Design Spring 2020 Spring 2023 Right-of-Way Fall 2022 Spring 2024 Utility Relocations Fall 2023 Early 2024 Construction Spring 2025 As of May 2024, the project is in design and in ROW approvals. A tentative bid schedule for contractors has not been identified. Construction is slated to begin in 2025.
