Construction is underway and trades are let. The original solicitation is included below: The existing 780 ASF BSL-3 suite area is located within the ground floor of the existing Cellular and Molecular Medicine East (CMME) building vivarium. The suite is currently deficient and will be upgraded to meet contemporary BSL-3 standards and best practices, a number of architectural, electrical and mechanical upgrades are required to make the space compliant. Architectural changes include, door revisions, plumbing revisions, utility upgrades, equipment upgrades and sealing the space to provide an approved barrier. All spaces will receive new wall and ceiling epoxy paint finishes with the floors receiving a new resinous coating and integral curbs. All existing mechanical will be replaced with a new dedicated Indoor Air Handling Unit with cooling and heating coils with multiple fans for a redundant system. A new roof mounted exhaust system will provide N+1 redundancy with redundant filter assemblies. Project duration is TWO HUNDRED NINETY-TWO (292) calendar days (ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (120) Preconstruction Days and ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO (172) Construction Days). The electrical lighting system will be replaced with a new LED lighting fixtures. Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Anticipated Contract Amount shall accompany each Bid.
