The scope of work mainly consists of the heating plant and roof mounted HVAC equipment replacement at Pierce Downer Elementary School. Any contractor wishing to be present will need to contact Katie Hannigan (channigan@dg58.org) to request a spot prior to the bid opening. Two (2) copies of your bid proposal and the product submittals must be submitted on the "Bid Form" with two (2) copies of all form attachments. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid shall be submitted with the bid. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful Bidder. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the Owner. All Bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages to all laborers, workman and mechanics working on public funded projects. If during the time period of work, these rates change, the contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount. The proposed contract is subject to the requirements of the Equal Employment Practices Commission and the Illinois Human Rights Act (HRA) Illinois Revised Statue, Ch. 69, Par. 1-101, et. seq. It is the responsibility of the contractor to attend and sign in at the pre-bid conference and site inspection. This will be the only time that contractors will be allowed access to the project site. The Engineer will transmit to prospective bidders of record any addenda the Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising at the pre-bid conference.
