As of June 21, 2021, this project has been awarded to Larson Danielson Construction for $16.7 million. The start date and the completion date is not yet available. The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for DT Project 2. DT Project 2 is one of five construction projects comprising NICTD's Double Track or DT Project and is the work relating to construction of a parking garage, stationhouse and retail space in Michigan City, Indiana in accordance with the bid packet as described in the Contract Documents. SSI: By law, transit agencies such as NICTD are required to protect sensitive security information ("SSI"). SSI is any information whose disclosure may compromise the security of the traveling public, transit employees or transit infrastructure. Protecting SSI means restricting its distribution and controlling access to it. Only persons with a "need to know" may access SSI. NICTD reserves the right to evaluate all potential bidders and team members to confirm they are qualified to access SSI. NICTD's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal for this project is seventeen percent (17%) of the bid price. Bidders are required to make good faith efforts to meet or exceed NICTD's goal. NICTD will award the Construction Contract for DT Project 2 to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and Applicable Law. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond within five (5) days of contract award in an amount equal to the Contract Price as security for the faithful performance of the Construction Contract. The Performance Bond must be in the form provided in Form B, which is provided with the Contruction Contract, and specify that none of the following will discharge the Surety's obligations thereunder: Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid must accompany each bid in accordance with Indiana law. Bid security shall be a certified check or bid bond on the form provided in Form E and shall be the bidder's guarantee that said bidder will, if the Construction Contract is awarded to said bidder, execute the Construction Contract within five (5) days of submission by NICTD to the successful bidder. All bid security shall be made payable to the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District and executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Indiana or bank with an office within 100 miles of Dune Park, Indiana. *Larson Danielson Construction requests that bids be emailed to ldbids@ldconstruction.com by 10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2021.
