Energy Plaza Condenser Water System rehabilitation M/WBE) GOAL: 20% The independent estimate of this work is $10,154,128.00. 1. Remove concrete cooling tower discharge shroud and replace with new fiberglass shroud. 2. Remove and replace the cooling tower fans and motors with new variable speed fans; provide new motors, fans and variable speed drives: a. Base Bid is new gear driven fans. Fan gear boxes shall have integrated heaters and oil filtration system. b. Alternate 1 is new direct drive fans. c. Provide new vibration monitoring system for Base Bid and Alternate 1. 3. Remove and replace the cooling tower fill. Remove and replace the cooling tower nozzles and distribution header piping. 4. Remove and replace the drift eliminators. 5. Clean internal surfaces of cooling tower to remove algae. 6. Repair and patch concrete spalling and cracks. 7. Remove and replace access panels, ladders, and catwalks for improved access into the Cooling Tower and its lower plenum. 8. Replace all condenser water pump check valves with non-slamming valves. 9. Provide new modulating actuators on cooling tower cell bypass valves. 10. Provide new condenser water pump coupling guard mesh screens, new pump ID nameplates, clean pump hub and retaining rings, remove/replace pump packings, 11. Remove metal mesh screens in the pump basins and discard. 12. Provide integration of new control components with the existing Delta V control system. Update the Delta V graphic user interface and sequence of operations per the design documents 13. Remove and replace metal or FRP access components (stairs and catwalks) with new components as indicated per the design documents. 14. Remove and replace basin sweeper system. Remove sediment from the cooling tower basins and coat basins during this work 15. Remove existing chlorine gas injection room on the west fan deck. 16. Design all required automatic temperature controls for the works included in the contract. 17. Design additional drain holes in roof slab. 18. Provide equipment Start-Up test reports for all new mechanical and HVAC equipment.
