While many of these projects have been discussed and planned for years, others are more recent. As you drive around town, here are some projects you will see happening this year: Clarifier repair -- The city's wastewater treatment plant has three clarifiers which perform the final step in the wastewater treatment process. Treated wastewater goes into a clarifier which circulates the water and allows the remaining sediment to fall to the bottom. Two clarifiers have been damaged by high ground water levels, and they will be repaired this summer. ______________ Removal and replacement of structural floor, mechanism drive rehabilitation, sandblasting and repainting mechanism and steel, scum baffle replacement, all in Final Clarifiers No. 1 and No. 2, and miscellaneous related work. The Contractor will be paid each month Ninety-five Percent (95%) of the Engineer's Estimate of the value of work completed at the end of the preceding month. Final payment will be made no sooner than thirty (30) days after completion of the work and acceptance by the Owner. The work under the proposed contract shall commence within thirty (30) days of the written Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued within seven (7) days of the Effective Date of the Agreement. The work shall be substantially completed by November 1, 2021. Final completion shall be by December 1, 2021. All work shall be completed by the substantial and final completion dates indicated, subject to any changes granted by the Owner.
