For RFQ Contractor - Mountain Book High School Classroom Addition and Renovation All communications, questions, and the completed Prequalification Proposals must be sent to Philip Black phil@bgrouparch.com at the office of the Architect. The Owner intends to award a single contract for this work to a single pre-qualified General Contractor. The Owner will accept proposals only from firms which demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this Project. General Contractor's License Number and Type must be on the outside of the bid envelope. The required Form of Certificate is AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement 2020 Edition. Minimum qualifications to be certified by prospective bidders Include: 1) statutory licensors requirements; 2) proof, in the form of a letter from a licensed bonding agent, of an A+ bond rating and of current bonding capacity in excess of 20 million dollars; 3) minimum of 10 years in operation as a General Contractor; 4) Contractor is to have successfully completed a minimum of 3 related projects in the past five years of similar cost, scope, duration, and complexity. Contractor is to provide a brief description of 3 recently completed relevant projects; 5) The value of this project must be less than or equal to 66% of the Contractor's average volume of work over the past 3 years (or branch of the Contractor if that branch will be performing the work); 6) Contractor shall have a successful safety record as indicated by its Worker's Compensation Modifier Rate (or Experience Modifier Rate) equal to or less than 1.00; 7) Contractor shall not be currently and directly involved in a lawsuit, arbitration, or alternative resolution with Mountain Brook Schools. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Mountain Brook Schools in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the Bid Documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bidders who bid in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provision of Title 34, Chapter 8. Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the architect; the bidder must show such evidence by clearly displaying its current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
