Renovation of a water / sewer project in Toronto, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Upgrades to the Ashbridges Bay Treatment plant. Although the grit removal systems in both buildings were upgraded with newer equipment and technology, the effectiveness of the enhanced grit removal systems on protecting downstream equipment during normal operation has yet to be confirmed due to ongoing construction in the plant that resulted frequent screens and grit diversions in the past few years. TIMELINE: The civil engineer completed a review of recently completed upgrades in P Building and D Buildings, to evaluate and optimize the performance of the grit removal systems. The key study objectives included establishing the general characteristics of grit present in the raw sewage received. Determining significant differences in grit characteristics associated with a) Seasonal variation and b) Dry weather and wet weather flow. Tender and construction is expected mid-2024 based on funding allocation and the owner's decision to proceed. *The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
