Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Hays, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
For the 230th Ave and 55th St Intersection Improvements project, which includes but not limited to: Construction of approximately 9807 SY of 9.5 in concrete pavement on 230th Ave. Nearly 800 ft of 55th Street, starting at its intersection with 230th Ave and heading East, is to be removed and replaced. The intersection of 230th Ave and 55th St is to be reconstructed with 9.5in concrete and provided with 80 ft of turning radii to better accommodate heavy vehicles. The remaining length of 55th St is to be constructed using 3in of Asphalt overlay. 3293 ft of new curb and gutter sections are to be laid along 230th Ave and 1965 SY of 10 ft wide sidewalk shall be introduced along the West and South of 230th Ave & 55th St respectively, to potentially serve as a multi-use path. New entrances shall be provided on the West to access the upcoming travel plaza and existing entrances to the Church on the East will need to be removed and replaced. Additionally, new curb and gutter sections shall be introduced along the Churchs property line to facilitate better drainage. Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashiers check, a certified check or a bid bond, payable to the City of Hays, Kansas, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Each bidder to whom a contract for the work is awarded will be required to furnish a Contract Bond and a Payment Bond executed on the specified forms and acceptable to the City of Hays, Kansas, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract. The City of Hays reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids/proposals, to waive any irregularities in such bids/proposals, and to accept such bids/proposals that are the most responsive and best suits the City of Hays. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written consent of the City of Hays, Kansas.
