The Hurley Fire District No. 1 will accept bids to furnish all labor, material, tool, equipment and services necessary to complete the Work of the Contract Documents under a Single Prime Contract for the replacement to unit heaters. Prime Contract Bidders may obtain one set (one project manual, one set of drawings and an electronic version on CD) of the Bidding Documents. Interested bidders are required to call prior to picking up documents to insure that sufficient copies are available. Contact the Architect's office at 845-339-2039 to make an appointment to obtain the Bid Package. The Bidder must obtain all Workman's Compensation, Disability and General Liability Insurance. No bid security is required. No bonds are required for this project. The Hurley Fire District No. 1 is exempt from the payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and Cities and Counties of the State. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid. By submission of a bid, the bidder agrees, if its bid is accepted, to enter into a contract with The Hurley Fire District No. 1 in the form included in the contract documents, to complete all work as specified or indicated in the contract documents for the contract price and within the contract time indicated in the bid documents. The awarded Bidder will be required to produce proof of Liability and New York State Workers Compensation Insurance. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business Enterprises (SDVOBs) and Minority and Women-Owned Businesses (MWBE) are also encouraged to participate. Prime contract bidders must make a good faith effort to engage Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business Enterprises and NY State Certified Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE). It is the Owners policy to encourage the greatest possible participation of SDVOB's and MWBE's and to ensure that minority group members and women are afforded equal opportunities without discrimination. The Contractor, by submitting his bid, acknowledges understanding and support of this policy. Bidders are required to visit and inspect the existing conditions. Arraignments can be made by contacting the Architect's office. Attention is called to the fact that no less than prevailing wage rates and salaries as set forth by the NYS Department of Labor, must be paid on this project and the contractor must insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Hurley Fire District No. 1 expressly reserves the right to waive any informality in order to accept any bid, or to reject any and all bids, or to award on any or all items, as the interest of The Hurley Fire District No 1 may require. No Bidder may withdraw their Bid within forty-five (45) days after the opening of Bids.
