The work is generally described as follows: Installation of precast concrete grade panels, reinforced concrete aprons, harness system, grading, erosion control mat, and related appurtenances. The Contract Time for the work is 75 calendar days. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 will be assessed for each consecutive working day thereafter. Contractors must be qualified under Mississippi Law and be registered with the State of Mississippi and as a licensed general contractor capable of performing the required work. Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident bidders state awards contracts to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances. In order to ensure that Mississippis Golden Rule is followed, state law requires a non-resident bidder to attach to his bid, a copy of his/her resident states current laws pertaining to such states treatment of non-resident contractors. Bids may be submitted via mail on the standard form to the City of Vicksburg or may be submitted via electronic submittal electronically, at which time the bid will be logged and must include a Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid. The successful bidder will be required to execute the standard form of Contract and Agreement, together with a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, within 10 days after formal award of the contract. Bidders attention is invited to the Instructions to Bidders relative to pre-award, equal employment opportunity requirements, and non-segregated facilities. The bidder shall guarantee to hold his bid good and may not withdraw his bid for a period of 90 calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. The award, if made, will be made to the party submitting the bid deemed most favorable to the City of Vicksburg at the time the conditions are stipulated. The City of Vicksburg reserves the right to reject any and all bids for any reason and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received.
