Renovation of a water / sewer project in Oakland, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
As of April 9 2021 project was awarded to NMI Industrial Holdings Inc amount of $1,241,494.00. The start date is May 1 2021 and will be completed May 1 2023. Work includes the following activities for both Secondary Clarifiers 8 and 12: demolition and proper disposal of existing carbon steel clarifier collector equipment, concrete repair of clarifier structure, disassembly and reinstallation of clarifier bridge after recoating and structural modifications, installation of District-furnished clarifier collector equipment, testing of collector equipment, safety improvements to clarifier access, handrail recoating, cleaning and video inspection of sludge withdrawal line. Clarifier bridge rehabilitation scope shall be completed offsite due to limited on-site staging area. Handling of hazardous materials is required as existing clarifier equipment and bridge coatings contain lead. Estimated cost of this work is between $850,000 and $1,150,000. All work covered by the contract shall be operationally and contractually completed within one-hundred and fifty-five (155) and two-hundred and fifteen (215) calendar days, respectively, after the issuance of the Notice to Proceed Proposals to perform the work shall be made on the forms provided and shall be submitted complete, including bid bond and list of subcontractors, in accordance with the requirements of the Specifications. Bidders shall have an active Class A (General Engineering) license from the Contractors State License Board at the time of bid submission, which must remain valid throughout the duration of the contract. Refer to Article 21 of the Instruction to Bidders, Document 00 21 13. A bidders bond for not less than 10% of the total bid dollar amount is required. Performance and payment bonds for not less than 100% of the contract price are required. As provided in Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the Contractor may substitute securities for monies withheld by the District to ensure performance of the work All Contractors bidding on a public works project and all Subcontractors of any tier shall bem registered with the State Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code. For information concerning this project, contact the Districts Construction Manager, Don Kiang, at 510-287-1686. The District will conduct an optional virtual pre-bid meeting and jobsite tours to familiarize prospective bidders with the project site and conditions: 1. The pre-bid meeting will be conducted virtually on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 9:00 am, and will last approximately 1 hour. An overview of the project and videos of the work areas will be presented at the meeting. Requirements of the Districts Contract Equity Program, including the pilot Local Hire component, will be discussed. Presented materials will be made available on the project website after the meeting. 2. Pre-bid jobsite tours will be held in 60-minute sessions. This is the only time that the Main Wastewater Treatment Plant will be open for inspection. Each tour session will have a maximum of 4 contractors, with a maximum of 3 attendees per contractor, for a maximum of 12 attendees (Attendees) per session. Jobsite tours are available at the following times: a. Monday, February 8, 2021: 11:00 am and 1:30 pm b. Tuesday, February 9, 2021: 8:30 am and 10:30 am 3. Prospective bidders interested in attending the pre-bid meeting and/or jobsite tour shall email Don Kiang (donald.kiang@ebmud.com) with the names of attendees and their respective email addresses no later than Friday, February 5, 2021, with the following information: a. Attendee names, emails, and phone numbers b. Company/contractor name c. Indicate if interested in prime contractor or subcontractor d. Preferred jobsite tour time, if interested 4. The link to the virtual pre-bid meeting shall only be used by confirmed attendees, and shall not be shared without the Districts authorization. Only one tour session will granted per contractor. Timeslots will be granted in the order that emails are received. 5. Attendees are required to wear face coverings during the tour. Attendees must follow Alameda County-wide health guidelines, including covering coughs and sneezes, regular hand washing, and social distancing. The District may limit the occupancy of indoor spaces in order to maintain social distancing. Attendees will be dismissed if they are sick or are not following health guidelines. The District may schedule additional jobsite tours as needed. 6. No photography by the tour attendees will be allowed. The District will take photographs, as requested by Attendees, restricted to the work zone. The District will release photographs to Attendees after the bid walk, pending review by District. All Attendees are required to have a photo ID and sign a confidentiality agreement not to share, sell, or publish photos. 7. The Prime Contractor and its subcontractors are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-job meeting and schedule a jobsite tour.
