Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a water / sewer project in Vernon, New York. Completed plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
**As of March 29, 2021, the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award is not yet determined at this time. Conversion of the existing 30,000-gallon influent equalization tank into a new headworks facility to include a new influent channel equipped with a mechanical fine screen and associated appurtenances enclosed by a new precast concrete building mounted over the channel, and an aerated grit chamber equipped with a coarse bubble diffused air system. Rehabilitation of an existing one-room masonry building to be used to house: controls for the above referenced headworks facility, the blower for the above-referenced grit chamber diffused air system, and controls for the equalization system described below. Construction of a new influent equalization system consisting of: a precast 80,000-gallon equalization tank and cast-in-place slab, meter vault, duplex submersible pumping station and wet well manhole, and associated appurtenances and piping. Construction of a new mechanical fine screen and associated appurtenances to be retrofitted into the existing influent channel located in headworks area inside the Control Building. Construction of a new distribution box to combine flows received from the two headworks facilities referenced above and split the combined flow to feed the secondary aeration tanks. Conversion of the two existing contact stabilization tanks and integral clarifiers into full-floor secondary aeration tanks and anoxic zones and related secondary aeration system improvements to include, for each tank: -Demolition of the complete center clarifier mechanism and all related piping, weirs, baffles and appurtenances, the complete coarse bubble diffuser system in the annular tank surrounding the clarifier chamber and all associated air piping, associated railings and miscellaneous appurtenances; -Modifications and improvements to the structural steel bridge/walkway assembly, the steel cylinder that forms the center chamber wall, and the steel baffle walls that extend radially through the annular zone, all to be reused; -Construction of a 12-inch vertical extension to the top of the concrete tank wall with cast-in-place concrete; -Construction of a new full-floor fine bubble diffuser system in the annular zone, air header piping and valves; -Construction of a new submersible mixers in the anoxic zone and associated lifting systems (jib cranes) mounted on the bridge/walkway above; -Construction of new process piping, valves, and supports inside the tank, to include core drilling new pipe penetrations through the tank wall for the influent and return sludge pipes, new pipe supports and hangers, and sealing and patching of unused existing openings. Construction of a new overhead air piping system extending from the blower room in the Control Building to each tank and corresponding modifications to the air piping inside the blower room and to the Control Building structure for air pipe penetrations.Upgrade of the existing return sludge pumping system to include: demolition and replacement of the existing submersible pumps, breakaway fittings, discharge elbows and piping, guiderails and associated appurtenances located in the return sludge wet well with new submersible chopper pumps and corresponding accessories; demolition and replacement of the existing piping, valves and flow meters in the valve vault next to the return sludge wet well; and repairs to the concrete vault to seal around the pipe penetrations into the vault and eliminate groundwater infiltration. Construction of a new plant water system (wet well manhole, duplex submersible pumping system and controls) and associated piping to be located near and connected to the chlorine contact tanks; Construction of new positive displacement blowers and associated piping, valves and appurtenances for supplying compressed air to the aerobic digesters, to be housed inside a new precast building to be constructed on grade near the digesters. Demolition and replacement of existing digested waste sludge pumps, piping and appurtenances located in the basement of the Control Building with a new reciprocating positive displacement sludge pump, piping and appurtenances. Modifications to the existing pole barn structure and construction of new facilities to be located inside the existing pole barn to accommodate the Owners mobile/trailer-mounted sludge dewatering equipment. Replacement of existing and construction of new underground process piping. Site/civil construction and modifications. Corresponding structural work for new facilities and modification to existing facilities.Construction of electrical upgrades to include a new outdoor emergency generator and weather tight sound attenuating enclosure, switchgear, electrical distribution systems and miscellaneous electrical upgrades. Construction of new HVAC systems in new buildings and upgrades to existing heating and ventilating systems. Upgrades to existing plumbing systems including replacement of the existing 2-inch potable water service and backflow prevention device for non-potable water supply with a new 4-inch potable water service, backflow prevention device, and connections to existing the non-potable water system in the Control Building and new non-potable piping and yard hydrants. A Bid must be accompanied by Bid security made payable to Owner in an amount of 10 percent of Bidders maximum Bid price and in the form of a certified check or a Bid Bond (on the form included in the Bidding Documents) issued by a surety meeting the requirements of the General Conditions. If, upon acceptance of a Bid, a Bidder fails to enter into a Contract with the Village of Vernon, the bid security shall be forfeited to and become the property of the Village of Vernon. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid within 60 days after the date of the Bid opening. The successful Bidder must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond with a surety company satisfactory to the Village of Vernon and conforming to the prerequisite requirements of the General Conditions on the forms included in the Bidding Documents. The Village of Vernon reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all Bids. Bidders are required to certify, under penalty of perjury, that Bids have been prepared without collusion with other Bidders, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. This certification is included with the Bid Form and each Bidder must sign in the space provided
