Site work for a road / highway in Strathcona County, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The selected respondent will provide construction services for the 2021 Arterial Road Rehabilitation Program (the "Year 1 Work") with a possible extension of up to two (2) years (the "Year 2 Work" and "Year 3 Work"). The Year 2 Work and Year 3 Work may include all aspects of Year 1 Work at locations identified in Arterial Road Rehabilitation Maps (Attachment 6). The Deliverables to be provided by the Contractor in accordance with the Contract generally include the following: YEAR 1 WORK Work under the Contract to be commenced by the Contractor in 2021: 1. The rehabilitation of 77,000 square meters of existing infrastructure. The project generally consists of milling of the existing asphalt, asphalt overlay, sections of base repair, reconstruction and spot concrete repairs, including: RGE RD 232 (HWY 16 - TWP RD 534); SENECA RD (CHIPPEWA RD - CREE RD); CREE RD (KASKA RD - ATHABASCAN AVE); SIOUX RD (BROADMOOR BLVD - WOODBRIDGE WAY); BASELINE #1 EBL (BROADMOOR BLVD - SHERWOOD DR); PREMIER WAY (PRAIRIE DR - PEMBINA RD); and PEMBINA RD (BROADMOOR - PREMIER WAY). More specifically, the Year 1 Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. Spot concrete removal and replacement including relocation of barrier curb and islands; b. Milling deficient asphalt surfaces to specified depths. The Contractor must cold mill transverse tie-ins of the asphalt to the existing adjacent paved surfaces; c. Structural improvements to the roadway which may include; concrete road base, spot base repairs or full base reconstruction; d. Asphalt paving to specified depths. All existing commercial driveway tie-ins (asphalt, granular or concrete) will require restoration to match their preconstruction state; e. Widening existing roadway to industrial standard; f. Shaping and grading side slopes to maintain ditch grades and slopes; g. Installation of guideposts and guardrails as per RR232 Barrier Design (Attachment 7); and h. Other related work as necessary to complete described Year 1 Work. YEAR 2 WORK In the event the County exercises its option to extend the Contract, the Work under the Contract to be commenced by the Contractor in 2022 generally includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. The rehabilitation of 89,000 square meters of Arterial Roadway at certain locations within the County as identified in Arterial Road Rehabilitation Maps (Attachment 6). Such roads will receive roadway improvements as outlined in the Year 2 Work description below; 2. Prior to the County exercising its option to extend the Contract, the County will confirm to the Contractor which of above arterial or industrial roadways will be included in the Year 2 Work; and 3. More specifically, the Year 2 Work may include, but is not limited to, the following: a. Spot concrete removal and replacement including relocation of barrier curb and islands; b. Milling deficient asphalt surfaces to specified depths. The Contractor must cold mill transverse tie-ins of the asphalt to the existing adjacent paved surfaces; c. Structural improvements to the roadway which may include; concrete road base, spot base repairs or full base reconstruction; d. Asphalt paving to specified depths. All existing commercial driveway tie-ins (asphalt, granular or concrete) will require restoration to match their preconstruction state; e. Widening existing roadway to industrial standard; f. Shaping and grading side slopes to maintain ditch grades and slopes; g. Installation of guideposts and guardrails; and h. Other related work as necessary to complete described Year 2 Work The County anticipates that the Notice to Proceed for the Year 2 Work to be issued by the County to the Contractor will require the Contractor to commence the performance of the Year 2 Work not later than June 1, 2022. The County estimates certain of the quantities for the Year 2 Work as follows: 82,900 m2 of roadway rehabilitation; and Other related work as necessary to complete described Year 2 Work. YEAR 3 WORK In the event the County exercises its option to extend the Contract, the Work under the Contract to be commenced by the Contractor in 2023 generally includes but is not limited to, the following: 1. The rehabilitation of 55,000 square meters of Arterial Roadway at certain locations within the County as identified in Schedule "B" Construction Drawings of the Agreement (Attachment 1). Such roads will receive roadway improvements as outlined in the Year 3 Work description below; 2. Prior to the County exercising its option to extend the Contract, the County will confirm to the Contractor which of above arterial roadways will be included in the Year 3 Work; and 3. More specifically, the Year 3 Work may include but is not limited to, the following: a. Spot concrete removal and replacement including relocation of barrier curb and islands; b. Milling deficient asphalt surfaces to specified depths. The Contractor must cold mill transverse tie-ins of the asphalt to the existing adjacent paved surfaces; c. Structural improvements to the roadway which may include; concrete road base, spot base repairs or full base reconstruction; d. Asphalt paving to specified depths. All existing commercial driveway tie-ins (asphalt, granular or concrete) will require restoration to match their preconstruction state; e. Widening existing roadway to industrial standard; f.
