Completion time for the project will be calculated as calendar days from the date specified in the "Notice to Proceed" as follows: 425 calendar days for substantial completion. 470 calendar days for final completion. Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1,000.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for substantial completion, and $1,000.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for final completion. Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price. 3. The successful Bidder on this work must demonstrate compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's MBE/WBE rule in order to be deemed a responsible bidder. The Merrimack Village District (MVD) owns and operates the water supply system for the Town of Merrimack. The proposed project includes the construction of a water treatment plant that will remove Per and Polyfluoro Substances (PFAS) from existing Well #2 and from the new Well #9 and provide potable water to the existing distribution system. The work will include construction of the following: o The PFAS water treatment facility (GAC) as shown on the drawings. o Associated site improvements, including site and roadway grading, paving, subsurface wastewater disposal system, drainage, infiltration basin, security gates, etc. o One (1) emergency generator to supply backup power to the water treatment plant and both wells. o Cleaning rehabilitation to Well #2 along with replacement of well pump and motor. o Install new well pump and motor in Well #9. This well will not need cleaning as it is a new supply. o New water main to Well #9 and tie it into the existing distribution system. o All work for Well #9 is included in a separate bid item which will not be initially awarded because the well has not been approved by NHDES yet, but approval is expected in 2021.
