As of April 20,2021 the project has been awarded to Permar Security, of LaCrosse, WI. Base bid: $276,300 for access controls and $124,800 for Video Surveillance. Have 180 days to complete. This building will be open this September 2021. So will needs to be done by then. All bids must be sealed and clearly marked, "BID FOR: MECC - SECURITY, Virginia, Minnesota.", along with bidder's name, and must be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the net base bid amount, payable to the Virginia Public Utilities and furnish the usual bonds (Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond) as required by the Specifications within ten (10) days after Notice of Award of Contract. This project will be signatory to a "No Strike-No Lockout" project labor agreement. No Bidder shall modify, withdraw, or cancel his Bid or any part thereof for thirty (30) days after the time designated for the receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or bids and to waive any defects, irregularities or information in any proposal or bid, and to award the contracts to other than the lowest bidder, if in their discretion the interests of the project will be best served thereby.
