Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking to pre-qualify principal trade and specialty contractors to submit bids for the furnishing of labor, material, and equipment for the following Chatham County project: Emergency Operations & Communications (EOC) Center. Balfour Beatty Construction has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for this project and will receive bids from and contract with the principal and specialty contractors for the execution of the work. Historically Underutilized Businesses are encouraged to participate; however, the firm must be certified by the Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB Office) through the Statewide Uniform Certification (SWUC) program. Similar project experience will be considered during prequalification. Chatham County's Emergency Management and Emergency Communications Center project will consist of a new 23,000 sq. ft. building to serve two agencies. The building will sit on approximately 40-acre site being developed as part of a county wide campus plan. An additional 12,000 ancillary pre-engineered ancillary building will be constructed on the site adjacent to a new 350' commination tower. All new sitework following phase 1 early package scope including completion of stormwater system, new sanitary sewer system and septic field, completion of water lines, and electrical service to the building. New driveways, parking lots. and sidewalks are included were indicated on drawings. The building will be structural steel framed with concrete slab on composite steel deck, floor will consist of slab on grade concrete with conventional concrete spread footings that will house the administration portion of the building program. The hardened portion of the building will consist of a steel frame and a reinforced concrete masonry wall system. The roof structure will consist of a steel frame, steel deck and a concrete topping. Roofing system will be a PVC roofing systems. Exterior façade will be a mixture of masonry brick veneer and metal insulated panel system, aluminum windows, storefront and curtainwall systems
