This project is expected to be awarded by the mid of May, 2021.** CAWCD is soliciting competitive sealed Proposals for Transformer Leak Repairs and Oil Processing as fully described in the specifications. Proposals will be received on or before the day and time stated on the cover sheet of this solicitation. Address to the locations will be sent after RSVP is received. Transformers at the Salt Gila and Red Rock Pumping Plants switchyard have developed oil leaks, some of them just seeping, some leaking enough to require oil adsorbents to be placed to collect the oil. Besides creating a poor image, it can eventually lead to an environmental contamination issue. If these leaks continue, there is the possibility of the unit tripping due to low oil. There are three (3) Westinghouse 16MVA transformers (KY1A, KY2A and KY3A) at Salt Gila Pumping Plant and two (2) GE 30 MVA transformers (KX1A and KX2A) at Red Rock Pumping Plant. CAWCD will determine theorder the transformers will be repaired. Removal of oil from the transformer, removal of radiators, replacement of all gaskets as required for the radiators, valves, feedthrus, ports and flanges with any evidence of oil leakage. Reassembly of all components, vacuum refill transformer with cleaned and processed oil, pressure or vacuum test for leaks, reconnect, electrically test and reenergize.
