Site work and paving for a civil project in Springdale, Arkansas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
As of 5/3/2021 project was already awarded for $1,878,421.73. The major items of the project include: mobilization & demobilization, clearing of established trees and vegetation, earthworks, storm drainage, approx. 4,700 LF of 12' wide concrete trail, a 64' and 124' clear span prefabricated Corten steel bridge each at 15'-6" wide, associated bridge abutments and wingwalls, isolated stamped colored concrete work, fencing, trail markings, signage, erosion control and water main relocation related work. Approx. 900 LF of the trail construction will occur within an area of land that has been designated environmentally sensitive, excavation work in this area will be done in coordination with an archaeologist. The portion of the trail project west of 40th St. will be constructed within an easement through Arkansas Game and Fish Commission property, namely the location of the new J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center. This west portion of trail is also funded in part with ARDOT TAP grant monies. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. For information concerning the proposed Work, contact Eric Anderson. P.E. at (479) 443-2377. The City of Springdale encourages all qualified small, minority, and women business enterprises to submit bids for capital improvements. Encouragement is also made to all general contractors that in the event they subcontract portions of their work, consideration is given to the identified groups. The City of Springdale hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by a certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form, payable to the City of Springdale, Arkansas, in an amount not less than 5 percent of the amount bid. The bid proposal and work of the proposed contract shall be in accordance with all applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, ordinances and regulations. The Attention of the Bidder is directed to the applicable federal and state requirements and conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under this contract. The contractor's license shall be provided at the time the contract is executed. Registration and good standing in the System for Award Management (SAM) will be required prior to contract execution. This Project is a Federal-Aid contract. This project requires wage rates to be paid according to Davis-Bacon Federal Wage Rates. Any Bid may be rejected which contains material omissions, or irregularities, or in which any of the unit prices are obviously unbalanced in the opinion of the City of Springdale. Also, a bid may be rejected if it, in any manner, shall fail to conform to the conditions of the Bidding Requirements and Contract Documents. Bidders are advised that Arkansas State Contractor Licensing Law applies to this project. Subcontractors are also required to be licensed according to Arkansas State Law. Licensure is not required to submit a bid; however, evidence of licensure shall be provided to the City of Springdale prior to signing the contract. The City of Springdale reserves the right to waive irregularities, reject bids, choose the most qualified bidder for the Project, and to postpone award of the Contract for a period of time which shall not exceed beyond ninety (90) days from the bid opening date.
