Renovation of a municipal facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The project includes, but is not limited to the; installation of an emergency generator, all required wiring, distribution panels, lighting, excavation and utility service coordination. The bid shall be on a lump sum basis; including all equipment, materials, and labor to complete the upgrade in accordance with the provided design and specifications. Clarification Deadline: 4/9/2021 2:00 PM The bid must be accompanied by a bid security which shall be in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid and shall be provided in the form of a bid bond, or certified or bank cashier's check made payable to Bethlehem Township. Any bond required hereunder must be issued by a bonding or insurance company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and having an A.M. Best rating of A or higher. The bidder shall provide proof of such rating to the Township. Cash deposits and personal or company checks which are not certified will not be accepted. Bid Security in the form of a check must be provided to Bethlehem Township within 24 hours of notice. An image of the front and back of the submitted check is acceptable for the purpose of providing initial proof of security at the time of bid proposal, however the Township reserves the right to request the physical check from any and all bidders at their sole discretion. Failure to provide the required security in the time allotted will subject the bidder or bidders to disqualification. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a surety bond acceptable to the Township in the amount of one hundred (100%) percent of the amount of liability under the contract. Any bond required hereunder must be issued by a bonding or insurance company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and having an A.M. Best rating of A or higher. The bidder shall provide proof of such rating to the Township. As an alternative to providing any required bond, the bidder may provide financial security in the required amount in the form of: (a) a cash deposit with the Township; or (b) an irrevocable letter of credit from a Federal or Commonwealth chartered lending institution naming the Township as beneficiary, in a form satisfactory to the Township Solicitor. The required bond or alternative financial security shall be delivered to the Township not later than twenty (20) days after the date of the Notice of Award he goods and/or materials specified shall be delivered to the Township, at 4225 Easton Avenue, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18020 as soon as possible following the Notice of Award, but in no event later than that date which is 160 days from the date of the Notice of Award. The bidder shall state the estimated delivery date on the Official Bid Form in the space provided. Steven J. Hunsberger shall be notified at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the delivery date and time. By submitting a bid, the successful bidder agrees that: (a) time is of the essence of the Contract; (b) the Township will suffer financial loss if the goods and/or materials are not delivered on time; and (c) there are significant delays, expenses and difficulties involved in proving in a legal or arbitration proceeding the actual loss. Accordingly, instead of requiring such proof, the successful bidder agrees that instead of requiring such proof, as liquidated damages for delay (but not as penalty) the price of the goods and/or materials which are delivered on a date which is later than 160 days from the date of the Notice of Award shall be reduced by an amount equal to ($100.00) dollars per day for each and every day which elapses from that date which is 160 days from the date of the Notice of Award until the date of delivery.
