20241119 Chicago Public Schools Johnson School of Excellence is an existing 4 story school building and gymnasium with an adjacent 1 story annex building located across the street from Douglass Park. This project is a renovation of the existing school building and a majority of the improvements are allocated to a mechanical system upgrade within the school. Renovation work also includes finish upgrades to floors and ceilings in corridor and classroom spaces throughout the building, bathroom renovations to upgrade finishes and bring the instances of non-compliant restrooms to accessibility standards, a more ambitious finish renovation to the 3rd floor, and the introduction of the "living museum" into the building's entry court. The "living museum" is an exterior space which includes new paving, light poles, art display, and seating. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND: 100% of the Base Contract Price PROJECT 23002309.01 CPS will begin accepting electronic bids for construction projects via Bonfire.
