Metra is seeking information from vendors as to the types and availability of voice and two-way communication systems for existing and new elevators and the associated features and technical specifications/requirements of available products. Metra is particularly interested in products that address cyber security concerns, and systems that are ruggedized designs for high use and/or for Chicago's temperatures (e.g. K-Tech Connections or RATH Smartview 2*). This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Metra, the service mark of the Northeast Illinois Regional Corporation, polling the industry for the types and availability of elevator emergency communication. This request has been issued to allow Metra to obtain information for planning purposes related to voice and two-way communication systems for elevator emergencies and this market research is not a competitive solicitation. No evaluation of participating vendors will occur, and participation is not a promise of future business with Metra. No contract or agreement will be entered into as a result of this process, nor does this RFI initiate a formal procurement or represent a commitment to issue a RFP in the future. Choosing to respond to this RFI will not provide a respondent any preference, special designation, advantage or disadvantage whatsoever in in any subsequent procurement process related to this project. This RFIshall not limit any rights of Metra, including its right to procure the goods and/orservices that are the subject of this RFI from a vendor that has not responded to this RFI.
